I voted NO!! I think NBC are taking the piss!! A cynical ploy to sell more DVD's... It would screw up any chance of a new series being made.. Peter @weloveheroes
A two hour special would be a slap in the face to fans and a waste of time for everybody else. Great first season. Great acting throughout the series but horrible writing and even worse producing. They did not stay true to the original formula of the series. Rather than stay focused on the characters already introduced, they kept adding new characters for purposes of plot & discarding them like cigarette butts. We don't need two more hours. We need to go back in time and make seasons two thru four worthy of the promise that season one made.
I agree, it was aggravating to feel so excited at how they started the season to be let down after about episode 8. As much as I hated the end of the season, it's actually an ok end to the series, especially with the direction they went in the end.
I've had mixed feelings about this show since the start of S3 and agree it wasn't the same after S1. But with the throw back to season one of having Claire jump off the ferris wheel and Sylar ending it with "It's a Brave New World" we actually get to end the series not quite knowing how it all works out. And considering the history, I think that's a better end than insulting fans by trying to "wrap" up anything in this show in 2 hours.
It's not possible. Leave it as is, don't add insult to injury by trying to "honor" us with something which will never satisfy.
Even if they do a "wrap up" movie. It's honestly unlikely I'd watch.
I voted yes cuz i want to see what happens too. But i hate NBC for cancelling one of my favorite shows. Really NBC, did you need to do more to make yourself look bad this year?
I vote no, because I think a series like heroes deserves much more than that, I think it deserves a final season, to tie up loose ends and fulfill the promise of volume 6.
We need closure. I prefer a 2 night 2 hour event but that's not going to happen... I also think 2 hours is not long enough to wrap the whole story, but its better than nothing I guess.
I'd rather have 2 hours than 0 hours. Obviously, I'd prefer more than 2. Kring should get his friend Damon Lindelof (he helped pitch the series) to write it.
Honestly what kind of a "wrap up" are you going to have in what really will be one hour 40 mins, (2 hours, minus the commercials). I don't realistically think you can write a decent ending in that amount of time. It's not worth it.
I'd like them to tie it up and for me the best way to do that (if we HAVE to have it limited to a couple of hours) is a flashforward to see the after effects of Claire's stupidity and arrogance (a bit like an extended '5 Years Gone'). I would be more satisfied and happier to let it go then than I am currently with the cruddy ending of volume 5. If all hope of resurrecting it properly (on another network etc.) is gone I want resolution somehow and I'll settle with a two hour movie (if I HAVE to). I hate NBC and will never watch any shows they produce again, I'm sick of the disrespect US networks show the fans of long running shows when they just cancel them abruptly and without resolution.
I reluctantly voted no only because it has to be 4 hours minimum or nothing. Anything else is a slap in the face to the fans, and wouldn't do justice to the actors or the show.
I say, sell it to another network, streamline the cast, and stick with characterization rather than overblown storylines.
I was reading through Jack Coleman's take on the 2 hour wrap up movie & I have to agree with him it will be a mistake to end Heroes in that way... we deserve better.. You can read his comments here: http://tinyurl.com/3axdmyn Pete @weloveheroes
I have read Jack Coleman's comments on his blog about the 2 hour wrap up movie of Heroes & I have to agree.. it's a bad idea.. I don't think that Heroes should be finished in that way.. we deserve better. Please read for yourself & decide: http://tinyurl.com/3axdmyn Pete @weloveheroes
Peter, I don't think Jack was saying it's a 'bad idea', I think he was just saying it's highly unlikely they could do it. And hearing that has just depressed me.
I want the series back, but I will take whatever i can get. I would like to see Tracy meet Barbara, Alice come back to Angela, We finally see Nathan's sons powers, what Matt's son can really do, Micah and Molly wherever the hell they are, Micah's cousin, and sexy Peter find real love. Damnit I just want the series back!

ReplyDeleteI voted Yes cause I want to see what happened after Peter left Central Park.

ReplyDeleteid rather it be left as is and not warped by squeezing into a 2hr movie.

ReplyDeleteIf you're a Heroes fan (which I am) something is better than nothing (especially the way last season ended being truncated by the Olympics).
ReplyDeleteIf they do this, I better see Peter' scar explained!
I think the SyFy Channel shold pick it up!!-Why end a show that has been so popular AND has so many more possibilities? NBC sucks, anyway.

ReplyDeletevoted no as 2 hours wont be enough - they need at least 5/6 episodes to give all characters the resolution they deserve
ReplyDelete2 hours is more a spin off type thing and wil only focus on the bennett's or petrelli's as there wont be enough time to do much else
Screw the wrap up, they should bring back the series!
